Along the way, you'll encounter fascinating historical sites, including ancient alms-houses, a remarkable natural spring, and the remnants of a Motte & Bailey castle. The path also leads to 'The Warren,' a serene riverside spot ideal for picnics, paddling, or simply
soaking in the natural beauty. Keep an eye out for local wildlife such as red kites, kingfishers, and swans. The walk concludes in the heart of
Hay-on-Wye, where you can explore quaint streets, independent bookshops, cozy cafes, and the newly restored Hay Castle.

The route is suitable for off-road buggies and off-road wheelchair users because there are no stiles, but we suggest that you go with another person in both instances, in case the route is muddy and you may need some assistance along the way, (there is a slight de-tour to avoid a kissing gate for those with wheels!).
