About the event
Join us for a scenic circular walk exploring the historic landscapes of the Golden Valley.
Starting in Peterchurch, home to a striking church spire and an ancient yew tree, this 3.5-4 mile guided walk offers a mix of gentle climbs, old pathways, and fascinating local history.
We’ll begin by visiting the intriguing St Peter’s Well, where water flows from a medieval carved head—a hidden gem with a story to tell.
From there, we follow peaceful green lanes, gradually gaining height to reach a woodland ridge with lovely valley views through the trees.
Our route then takes us across farmland and down a quiet country lane, following the early course of the River Dore as we return to Peterchurch.
This medium-grade walk is ideal for those who enjoy a bit of a climb without anything too strenuous.
